The Community Action Agency was born through the dedication and hard work of local citizens who wanted to make a better life for themselves and their neighbors. The first formative meeting was called by Marshall Frenette, then President of the Malone Chamber of Commerce, on February 20, 1965. The minutes of that meeting noted that a diverse cross-section of interested Franklin County residents, leading business people, county and school officials were in attendance. Upon inception the Agency was named Franklin County Economic Opportunity Council, Inc., incorporating under Community Action Agency of Franklin County in the early 1980s, and evolving in September 1997 to ComLinks.
ComLinks Community Action Agency has been striving for 40 years to meet the needs of people in local communities, to give them a decent, affordable place to live, to put food on their tables, and to give them the confidence to know that tomorrow will, indeed, be a better day. Safety, Warmth, Food & Dreams... We Do All That!
